Pavlova is one of my very treats, and one I often ask for as my birthday cake!
Have you tried our new Cool Lemonade Cheeseball & Dessert mix? I love to mix some of this up with vanilla Greek yogurt and have it ready in my fridge when I want a little something to top some angel food cake with, fill some berry tarts, or just enjoy plain as the yogurt. And now our Cool Lemonade Pavlova recipe will be on my list this summer!
Have you had a pav before? The few extra steps it takes to make a pavlova are all worth it!!
Pavlova: 5 egg whites, at room temp 1 cup sugar 1/2 tsp Cream of Tarter 1 tsp vanilla 1 tsp white vinegar
Garnishes: Fresh strawberries and other fruit of your choosing (I LOVE kiwi, raspberries, blueberries and fresh peaches)!
Directions: Preheat the oven to 350F. Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. (Note: You will quickly reduce the oven to 250F in step 4)
With a mixer, beat the egg whites until soft peaks form, about 5 min. Add the sugar in 2 additions, beating for 30 seconds between, then continue beating on high speed until glossy stiff peaks form, about 2 more minutes. The peaks should be stiff enough that you can hold the whisk upright and the peaks won’t move.
Add the vanilla extract and beat for 1 more minute. The peaks should still be very stiff. If not, keep on mixing at high speed. Using a rubber spatula, fold in the cream of tarter and vinegar. Beat for an additional minute.
Spread the pavlova mixture into an 8-9 in circle. Make sure the edges are relatively tall and there is a nice dip in the center. Place pavlova in the oven. As soon as you close the oven door, reduce heat to 250F. Bake until the pavlova is firm and dry, about 60-65 min total. Rotate the baking sheet if you notice some spots browning. Turn the oven off and let the pavlova cool inside the oven. (2-3 hours or overnight)
Once the pavlova is cool, you can store it covered tightly at room temp for up to 2 days, or serve right away.
To make the whipped cream: Using a mixer, beat the heavy cream, Cool Lemonade Cheeseball & Dessert and granulated sugar, on medium-high speed until soft peaks form, about 3 min.
Top the pavlova with whipped cream and assorted toppings. Slice and serve. Enjoy!
Our Cool Lemonade Dessert comes with 2 packages in a box for $9.99, so you can enjoy this several other ways in addition to your pavlova! ... See MoreSee Less
